The Amwell Valley Fire Company is ALWAYS accepting applications for new members! We urge all willing and committed individuals to join us and give back to the community with one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. The skills you will learn as a volunteer firefighter are invaluable. It may be easier to become a volunteer firefighter than you think!

There are several ways you can join The Amwell Valley Fire Company. Choose to become either a:

Firefighter - Interior and exterior firefighting operations - 18 & up

Fire Police - Exterior crowd and traffic control - 16 & up

Junior Member - Help with firehouse activities and assist with exterior fire operations - 14 & up (Must be 16 to ride the trucks)

Both adult positions require you to submit an application (Contact us for an application) and undergo a background check. Junior members just require an application.

firefighter 1 program
Those seeking to become firefighters in the state of NJ must attend an accredited 120-hour Firefighter 1 course, however they are able to assist in the station and on fire scenes without the need for fire school. All gear will be supplied at no cost to the member.
More information can be found below, but you'll be placed in the next available course at the Hunterdon County Emergency Services Training Center if over the age of 18.

Please fill out the google form application below. If you are unable to access the link below, please email us so that we may provide you with a paper copy. This form is only to notify the membership committee of your interest. All information is confidential. After this is completed, you will be supplied with a formal application that is filed with the state of New Jersey. Please reach out with any questions.

We invite ALL people interested in membership to stop by our firehouse on any Monday evening between 7-9 pm throughout the year (with the exception of federally observed holidays). Our firehouse is located at 22 County Road #579, Ringoes, NJ 08551. Please stop by and see what our department is all about. We will love to provide a tour and introduce you to all our friendly firefighters, who will gladly answer any questions you may have.
